Annamalai Subbiah brings global experience and a dynamic strategic approach. During his 33-year career in the metal and scrap metal industry, Annamalai has gained extensive, valuable experience in all the business segments related to this industry in developed and emerging markets. He has been a pioneering entrepreneur and leader leveraging synergies and building future capabilities in the metal industry. Annamalai envisages Shimsupa GmbH & Co. KG as an organization that will be the ultimate platform where buyers, suppliers and other partners will be connected and be able to do business seamlessly in a transparent manner.
Annamalai began his career with Arumugam Annamalai Industries, a manufacturer of automotive components. This spurred him on to turn entrepreneur and he set up Sri Raghavendra Industries, an automotive parts manufacturing firm. Employing more than 3000 people, Sri Raghavendra Industries was his first success story as a business leader.
In 2006, Annamalai moved to Germany and set up a venture there where he partnered with major scrap recycling companies like the Alba Group, TSR Group and HJH Group. Working with them to procure and supply high quality foundry scrap from automobile players like BMW and Volkswagen, Annamalai’s success story continued. His network expanded rapidly across Europe, Central America, South America and Asia and he forged strong relationships with regional partners who were committed to long-term business relations.
Annamalai’s vast experience has given him valuable insight into the challenges faced by partners and collaborators in the metal and scrap metal industry and through Shimsupa GmbH & Co. KG intends to remove all these challenges while adding tremendous value to the supply chain and this sector. His network of partners and suppliers in Europe and South America helps customers procure the best and highest quality scrap material which suit the exact requirement of customers and provide costs benefits as well.
Annamalai holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a recipient of the prestigious Gold Medal for his academic achievements.
